New York and Company- Midtown East

Clothing store in Midtown seems to cater to "curvy women" ( also plus size to some extent they say, but one woman says she is "petite" and likes the place so go figure)

One says it is NOT trendy but "work/casual"

Women who do not like it say it is because clothes do not fit them well or salespeople were too ruse

Others love it

I would give this store five stars if not for the overly aggressive way they ask for your information at check out, but I've come across this issue at all NY&C's, so I'm going to blame store policy, not the workers, on this one.

I was looking for affordable work clothes, and NY&C was a really good option for me. They have a great selection of pants, and their tops are decent. I left the store with four pairs of work pants, two tops, a cardigan, and this cute wrap around.

Out of the NY&C's I've shopped at (which includes ones in Los Angeles CA, Merced CA, Alexandria VA and NYC), this one is by far the best I've seen. It contains the largest selection of clothing I've encountered, the store was clean and organized, and there was no line for the fitting room!

Add to that the great savings I received from the buy one, get one free pants sale, I have to say my experience was really enjoyable. Besides the intrusion on privacy, my checkout experience was also a acceptable, especially when you see your discounts on the screen as your clothes are scanned.

They have amazing sales but this place is not meant for non-curvy women.

I'm tall and have no curves and everything in this store was like wearing trash bags for me.  This store is meant for curvy and ++ size women. The stuff is cute but they do not cater to my body type.

3 stars b/c my sister, who is curvy loves this place and loves there sales.

This store is well organized and lots of staff members.

I've never really shopped at NY&Co . Came in because I had a $10 pair of pants coupon. Right when I walked in, I asked the closest store employee for their best pant for curvy women. The lady's response was very generic-- "we have straight leg, wide leg, and skinny."  So off I went to fend for myself.  I
t was whatever. Nothing great but nothing horrible either.

The store is clean and organized. The dressing room had a long line as well as the checkout.   I wouldn't go back to shop there again unless I had another coupon.  Happy shopping!

I love this store and I don't know what was going with their staff yesterday but all the sales persons were rude! I won't shop at that location anymore!

They had an amazing sake with clothes up to 70% off, too bad it was not anything that I was interested in. All of the bright and pretty colors were full priced items!

It was my lunchtime and I had on a regular black suit with a white blouse and everyone walked up to me asking if I worked there. Several times we tried looking for staff members but you couldn't tell who worked there and who didn't.

I'm not too big on NY & Co anyway, I think its a maturer line for women in there 30s and up. I'm more of a Banana Republic or Zara shopper.

This is definitely not a place for 'trendy' and overly-cute clothes, but they have some fantastic pants with great fits for more curvy girls. It's a good place for professional clothes (I work in a hospital). You can also get nice shoes or accessories on sale if you dig around. Helpful staff. Don't pass it over.

New York & Company is definitely a spot to hit up for all of your office attire needs.  However, I was in there today and they have definitely stepped up their casual wear game.  Especially their summer clothes.  They were having a great sale today. I picked up some casual shorts, Buy One Get One Free! You can't be that.  I also ended up getting a bathing suit for $19 because it was 40% off.  You gotta love it.

Really like the career/casual clothes at this store.  Great selection of blouses, sweaters, pants, coats, etc. at very reasonable prices - especially with the buy one get the second 75% off.  And make sure to check out the clearance section on the second floor and ask to have sale price confirmed as the great Eddie Sedgewick-like dress I picked up that I thought was $49 was actually on sale for $29.  Even better!

This is one of the few stores that carries a decent selection of petite sized clothes outside of the typical grandma style department store stuff.  Their career selection has some nice clothes I like that they are seperates because they usually fit me better because I'm two different sizes.

I like this place for affordable work clothes...they always have great sales going on and most of their stuff is cute.  I agree with other reviewers on the aggressive sales staff, but the fact that I can almost always rely on them for buy-one-get-one or similar sales is definitely a good thing.  Be sure to try things on before buying though, as the pants can vary wildly in size and cut.

This New York and Company is the biggest and best NY &Co I have ever gone to. They have many items to choose from and a sales rack upstairs with a wide variety of clothing on sale. There is always something on sale here. I definitely recommend visiting this upscale location!
