Keg Room- another Irish place

Hmm...this is turning into Irish Pub night almost..

Well, good reviews for this place in Midtown anyway

People have mixed reactions to the food (some really like certain dishes...such as the chops and the macaroni and cheese)..not gourmet stuff, that's for sure

The most convenient pub and beer option near my hotel, The Keg Room has exactly what it says.  Kegs, lots of kegs of different brews for any person of any particular taste.  When I came here, I felt like having the Blue Moon Pumpkin Ale that night as I had just come from a filling dinner.   I got here during the 2nd half of the MNF game...there weren't too many people here.  This is a great place to have a drink or a large party either post dinner or even for dinner if your group enjoys having good American/Irish pub fare.  The service here was very good.  We sat down and multiple servers covered our table to make sure that we had another beer when we finished one.

If I ever stay in the Herald Square area again for a vacation, then I'll make sure to make a detour here.

Great neighborhood option for lunch and happy hour!  It's much bigger and brighter/newer than all the Irish pubs on the block, yet not one of the trendier venues that we have recently seen open, either.

The Buffalo wings are great!  However, the sangria is way too bitter (shouldn't have ordered it at a place like this, but I'm not much of a beer drinker.)  Instead, go for the
Iced tea specialty drink - spiked iced tea,  w/cranberry juice & lime!
They were able to quickly & efficiently accommodate a group of 15 Coworkers just after the normal lunch rush on a Friday.  We called about 15 mins prior and they were set up, ready & waiting for us upon arrival.  Everyone enjoyed their food and the prices were reasonable so we will definitely be back!
Several waitresses and the Manager came by several times to ensure that everything was ok so I applaud their service!

I work nearby and have come for lunch and happy hour.
All menu items seemed very reasonably priced around $10-$15 (could be some that sneak in over that price range). Food is very delish!
HUGE space and always can find a seat

at lunch, there is so many ppl who come by asking if you are ok, need anything. I'd hate to hate on customer service but its tough to carry on a conversation with how often they interrupt.

This has to be one of my newest favorite sports bars now... there is so much space! Hoping it stays this way b/c I can't stand how crowded some of the other places in the area get.  There are also plenty of TVs, the bartenders are nice, and the wings are good.  Nothing to complain about.

Poor service. The sign  outside said it was $4  shots.  They charged us $6  per shot.  When  we brought this to their attention,  they did not compensate our $2 per shot loss.  Instead,  they just went outside to change their sign.  Then,  they proceeded to ignore us completely.

Thanks for the hospitality guys,  we  WON'T  be back.

One of my favorite spots in this neighborhood. Great food (the hot chops are to die for, as are the sliders) and the bar tenders are friendly and beer knowledgeable. Great for lunch or happy hour.

This is a new, solid Irish pub/sports bar in the Herald Square area.  Admittedly there's a lot of decent competition, but I would happily come back to the Keg Room.  They have a nice big bar, lots of TV's, great selection of beers and the usual well drinks/cocktails.  Service was very friendly and attentive.  I didn't have anything to eat so can't speak to the food menu.

Food's ok. I've had the chicken tender sliders and burger, good - nothing particularly special.
Beer selection's ok. refer to description of food above.
Huge space that doesn't feel too big which leads me to believe they're doing the decor thing right.
    Service is solid.
    Three stars seems appropriate.

I went in here the other night when I was in town for work.  My goal was to get a solid meal with a few beers and see some of a baseball game.  I went 2 for 3, not bad.

Good beer selection - All of the standards, plus some interesting micro brews

Excellent sports viewing - I counted 28 large flat screen TVs and three huge      Projection Screens

Food - Eh.  I got the potato skins and steak salad.  It was pretty much the quality you would find at any large chain sports restaurant, nothing special.

I'm sure they have some good dishes, but I don't get why they call themselves an Irish Bar, or do they?  I would only go back if I was in the area and wanted to watch a game to kill time.

I went here when in the city for work and staying at the hotel across the street. My meal was pretty good, generic sliders and fries, and the beer selection was decent. I was a bit surprised the list wasn't as extensive as some of my favorite places in Boston given this is right in NYC. Service was good, our waitress was friendly but had some trouble understanding our separate receipt requests (due to reimbursement policies for work). Overall I would return to this place, but not before checking out a few other spots too.

Stopped by here after dinner in the city.  Must say it's a pretty decent sized sports bar with lots of TV's and tons of beer on tap to choose from.  They also have a full menu for those who wish to dine in.

The establishment is definitely a step up in terms of layout and design from other sports bars/pubs that I've been to.  I will be sure to come back for the upcoming NFL season and check out their food as well with a bunch of friends.

I have been to this bar before with a group. My friend brought me for a last hurrah with high kudos for this spot.  I liked that it is clean & massive with lots of space. Our bartender, Tom both times I been here has taken great care of us. He has been friendly, fast & funny. The food is casual pub fare, pretty good but not the best I ever had. We ordered a bunch of apps:  nachos, chicken tenders, curly fries, potato chips, wings, onion rings & pizza. The potato chip sauce & pizza were not great so skip those but the rest were pretty well received. I like the way the room is set up with plenty of booths and plenty of bar stools. Each corner seems to have its own bartender so you never wait for a drink and they stay on top of you, service wise they are above average for a pub. I'll be going back often and making this "a go to spot".

Came here for a happy hour and they only had two drinks on special! I got the mango daiquiri, which was good, but had a three inch layer of foam! Lame.

I also tried the turkey sandwich on ciabatta, which was average. The turkey was too dry/thick.

    Service was a little slow.

Overall, it is a spacious place and we got a nice seat near the open front, but with a bunch of other (all mediocre) places in the area, I am not tempted to come back.

This restaurant was across the street from our hotel and the desk girl recommended it so we decided to give it a try upon her recommendation. We were blown away by the portion sizes and the food was really good too! Don't be afraid to give this place a try, it is well worth it!

    Bar / restaurant

Me, I like my bars to be cozy and manned by really good bartenders.  The Keg Room has it down to a science.

Looking to kill some time waiting for a friend of mine to get out of work, I was wandering the 30's looking for a place to hide out for about 45 minutes when I spy the Keg Room.

The bar is huge - in fact the whole place is larger than it looks from the outside.  I snagged a spot at the bar and the excellent barman got me going with a properly made drink.  i settled in and was able to catch just about any sport on the massive screens all around the place.  Definitely a great place to catch the Euro soccer games.

Prices were excellent and the bartender was there just the right amount of time with the chit chat and the checking on refills.  This place does a screaming business - it was as if someone rang a bell somewhere and the doors flew open and a load of people began pouring in... an excellent sign.

In keeping with the name, there was a huge selection of beers - and not just the usual suspects on tap, but others - but centered on the American stuff.

Definitely a good spot to meet, drink and be merry.

Food is available but I didn't try it.

    Go!

Great bar for beer options!  They have a ton of beers on draft and in the bottle. A good place to come for sports since they have over 10 large screen TVs.......
