Angelo Bellini

OK, This looks like again more just a neighborhood restaurant sort of place.

Let me see what Yelpers say-- Oh these mixed reviews... I get the feeling it evens out as not bad, but not all that great shakes either...seems reasonably priced for Midtown except to one indignant patron (had noticed others said they thought it reasonable)

    Went between a 2 and 3 star review but there was honestly nothing negative to say about the place.  It just didn't wow me at all.  Went for a team lunch and everyone seemed satisfied.

    Started off with a ceasar salad to share with the table since they don't do individual small salads.  Lots of cheese, just enough dressing, prob the fave part of the meal.  The little mini rolls that came when we were seated were also pretty warm and tasty.

    For a meal I ordered the chicken piccata.  This is what didn't really wow me.  It was decent.  I'd def order something diff on the menu next time though.  Others said the parmigiana was just ok, burger was fine, etc.

    A million other places, including good Italian places in the area so I'll be venturing out to test those out.

    Caesar salad was ok.  That was worth 3 stars.  Capellini and white clam sauce tasted like water with absolutely no seasoning.   We asked for extra garlic which it had but the cook probably never sautéed the broth.   Could be the worst white clam sauce ever.   Lots of clams but the sauce was water.

    Sorry, but there is obviously a reason this place was empty.

    Went here on a whim. The hostess greeted just about anyone that glanced at the menu outside which I should have realized was a bad sign. Also, the place had about 4 tables full on a Friday night when the little Italian place across the way had an hour wait.

    My wife and I ordered bruschetta to start. Not good at all. The amount of cheese and the large amount of balsamic vinegar made it seem like they were trying desperately to compensate for subpar bruschetta. I ordered the pizza and my wife ordered spaghetti and meatballs. Both were pretty mediocre. Not horrible, but certainly nothing special.

    This place is just not worth going to when there are so many excellent Italian places around with very similar pricing. You won't be seeing me there again and I honestly doubt this place will last very long.

    Really good Branzino and Salmon.

    $18 entrees come with a really great salad and bread. I've never eaten in the restaurant, but their delivery kicks serious ass.

    Really discouraged to write this review since I was so happy to see a new, (I hoped) up-scale pizza place a couple blocks away. We finally got around to ordering pizza delivery and we were really upset about what turned up at our door.

    The problems started with the pizza. It was underdone, not even golden brown (which I would still consider to be underdone), but white. The crust was obviously way too doughy, but the taste was still pretty good.

    We ordered the salad on their recommendation. I noticed right of the bat that the sliced tomatoes in the salad were whitish-green on the inside, but thought maybe since it's tomato season, they used some kind of awesome heirloom tomatoes. They didn't. They were just bad tomatoes. The rest of the salad, between the olives, artichoke hearts, also tasted a little off/canned.

    Finally, I found a bag that I thought might be holding some bombass garlic knots or cheesy bread or something extra. I pulled out three legit stale, plain, cold rectangles of bread which was the icing on the bad pizza delivery cake.

    Ordered from here tonight and was all around impressed with the quality of the pizza. A nice, crisp, thin crust, fresh toppings and flavorful sauce.

    They deliver to the West Side and may be the best pizza in our range that I've found so far!

    I live next door and have always meant to eat here and finally did.  My friend and I split a the fried eggplant appetizer and a small pizza, and it was more than enough food at an awesome price.  $10 for the appetizer, $13 for the pizza, $26 for two people is pretty incredible, especially at a nice italian restaurant.  Appetizer was good, nothing too special, but we REALLY liked the pizza.  The sauce is really good for some reason. My friend was raving about it the entire time he was eating it.

    I have no idea how anyone can rate this place more than 1 star. Went there last night because Hillstone was packed. I had better food at my grade school cafeteria than at this place.
    Linguini in pesto- ZERO taste and mushy
    Veal Parmesan- Fried hard with tasteless tomato sauce and what must have been PolyO mozzarella.
    Ravioli -not as good as Chef Boyardee
    Glass of Cab-undrinkable
    There was no one in the place-three tables including ours-but the service was still slow and the place must have been heated to 90 degrees.
    I am constantly amazed at how unconscious management is at some of these establishments and more amazed at how they stay in business.
    AVOID LIKE THE PLAUGUE!!

    What a terrific addition to our neighborhood!
    The best pizza I have had in NYC in a very, very long time.
    I also enjoyed their Insalata Cesare. They dont' sell slices of pizza, but a
    small pie is inexpensive and delicious.

    I was hoping for good food especially since it took them 3 hours to deliver it but turned out to be terrible. we ordered pasta and there was absolutely no flavor whatsoever

    stopped in for lunch on a whim. i ordered chicken with
    marinara sauce, no cheese with spaghetti off the regular menu.

    the chicken without any doubt was not fresh and it tasted
    like a reheated cutlet. the spaghetti was okay. my husband ordered pasta with meat sauce and asked the waiter for
    extra sauce since the meat sauce was dry. we felt like they were
    doing us a favor. restaurant was empty except for 3 other
    tables.

    you are not greeted warmly by the staff and they don't come
    by to see if you need anything . this is my second time at this
    restaurant for lunch and after this meal we won't being
    going back again.

    2 Texans, 1 Michigander/now Texan, and 1 New Yorker/current cowboy decided to give AB's a try while on vacay in the city.  The atmosphere was a bit lacking, but the food was on par for the excellent prices.  There was no wine list (what the what?!) but the desserts were scrumptious.  If you're looking for affordable, honest Italian without all the bells and whistles head over to Angelo Bellini's.
