Raymour and Flanigan

Well, Raymour and Flanigan really advertises on TV a lot, I can tell you that, because I do not watch that much TV and I have seen loads of commercials for them.

Let us see what Yelper's say about this location...maybe too new for a lot of reviews...

Oh wow, people either really like this place or they just about hate it...have to run a whole bunch of reviews so you can see what I mean...

Just received my sectional and table, and I'm happy with each. The items were wrapped in blankets and delivered right on time. The men delivering were very friendly. The store didn't get one of my chairs in on time, but they're coming back in 2 days, so it's not a big deal.

As far as my experience in the store - it was great. My salesperson, Patrick, left my wife and I to look at things on our own pace, and checked on us when we needed his help. It was great. I'm a very obsessive person when it comes to this kind of purchase, and I didn't feel pressured or rushed, at all.

I chose Raymond and Flanigan based on it's reviews compared to the other discount furniture stores in the New York area. I visited a couple of it's competitors, and the reviews on Yelp were very negative, which steered me away. Also, I didn't want to break the bank on some nice stuff, and I felt R+F was a good balance of quality and price.

All in all, I'm satisfied, and I hope my stuff holds up over time, as it wasn't as cheap as one of the other stores I looked at, but I'm confident that it will.

So again: Ask for Patrick when you go the store. He'll treat you well.

And a note to Raymour and Flanigan - take care of your delivery guys. The one guy told me he had a problem in his knee, but an X-Ray found nothing. Help that guy get some physical therapy. I wish I got his name, so I could pass it on.

I hope this review helped you.

TERRIBLE Experience. When scheduling deliveries Raymour and Flanigan it is almost as if they want to make it as difficult as possible. Since they are a furniture store in New York City, you would think they understand that most people cannot pick up the furniture themselves, and instead would have a furniture delivery service which was the least bit accommodating. This is NOT the case.

Instead, during the week they only deliver between 8 and 4, only giving you a three hour window from which they could show up any time. Apparently they don't realize that people work and want to specifically only deliver when people would not be home and be at the office. Then, if you want a weekend delivery they don't even deliver on Sunday (because it would of course make too much sense to deliver furniture when people are home and not at work). So you're only option would be Saturday.

At that, they don't even let you pick a time, only the day. I had told them when scheduling the delivery that I could not be at the delivery address early in the morning on Saturday. They say when scheduling this should not be a problem. Nonetheless, two days before the delivery date, I get a call stating that my delivery time would be between 9AM and 12, which happened to be the exact times I told them I could not have the furniture delivered. When I called them, they seemed to not care less. They claimed that there was nothing they could do (although obviously there is SOMETHING they can do, just nothing they WILL do).

After this experience is it is clear this a company that does not deserve mine or anyone else's business.

My wife and I bought a couch and loveseat a year ago from Raymour and Flanigan Furniture. It was very comfortable for the first few months. After that we had to call to get the stuffing redone on the pair because you could feel a piece of wood in the couch on the small of your back. They redid it and it felt great, for another few months. Then we called again and they fixed it again. But there was no longterm solution given. We will have to get this redone every few months forever. And since now the manufacturing warranty is expired we have to pay $80 dollars to get it restuffed each time. So now there is another $320 added to the couch cost every year. When talking to customer service we were told that it is a comfort issue; the couch is not broken and that is just the way it is made. We were not told that the couch was made to be comfortable for a year and then you will be unable to recline in it without having your lower back hurt because of a piece of wood poking you.

If this sounds like the company for you then good luck. I know I will never buy from these guys again and I will copy this review to every website and social network I can. Hopefully other people are not taken for a sucker; like my wife and I were.

Just bought something from this 14th Street location and am very unhappy with my experience.  Bought an ottoman to match sectional I bought a few months ago.  After exactly 3 days, the cushion and filling was depleted on two sides.  Called the store immediately and was given the run around.  Several times was told someone would call me back after inquiring with a manager but no one ever did.  If you don't continue to call, you will get no where!  We walked back to the store and insisted on an even exchange and eventually they caved in.  I'm so flabbergasted at this lack of customer service.  They are as sweet as can be when you are shopping but after that, forget it.

And I should mention that when I originally purchased the ottoman, I asked to pick it up in store so I could save on the delivery fee and it would fit in my car.  When I went to pick it up, I was asked to sign a waiver saying that it was a Final Sale.  This was NOT explained to me by the salesperson.  At this point, the ottoman was in a cardboard box and loaded in my car.  How would I know what condition it was in when I got home?  They looked at me like I had three heads.

This item was not on clearance or final sale at all.  Simply because I picked it up in store and didn't pay the delivery fee.  The salesperson should be obligated to divulge this.

Anyway, they exchanged the piece and we picked it up.  Again, asked to sign waiver.  And NOT one person cared at all that the original piece we bought only days before was defective.  This is my 3rd time purchasing from Raymour and Flanigan and have friends that buy there.  But I cannot see myself buying anything at all again from them.

I bought a king size bedroom set from this location. After 1 week, the bed frame broke and the entire bed began sinking in the middle.

We called the show room and they could only refer us to their maintenance department. The earliest time we could get for them to fix our bed was 6 weeks later.

They refused a return or even an exchange until after they assessed the bed frame. So we dealt with a bed which sunk in the middle for 6 whole week, sometimes sleeping on the couch.

The repair team came and fixed our bed frame. 2 weeks later, the frame broke again. Now we are stuck with a broken bed and have to make another appointment for a fix.

I will never buy anything from this business ever again. They furniture looks nice but is garbage. Their customer service does not adequately deal with complaints. "You are on your own after you walk out the door" is not a sufficient customer service policy.

Not to mention everyone we spoke with was either rude or clueless.

    BUYER BEWARE!!!!

My boyfriend and I came in the other day when he was looking for a bed (bedframe, box spring, mattress).  Our sales rep was perfectly nice and helpful, and clearly knowledgable.  He was generously cutting prices and everything was going swimmingly.

Things really went downhill when my boyfriend said he would need to think about which bed to buy but would definitely be back.  We got the rep's card to assure him we would come back to him.  However, at this point he got kind of sullen and angry and asked in disbelief whether we realized what a good deal he was offering us.  We did, and thanked him, then headed for the door (with the full intention to come back in the next few days to actually commit to one of the beds).

As we reached for the exit door, our sales rep called out to us, and when we turned around, he was standing with the manager.  They beckoned us over and the manager, similarly to the sales rep, started to berate us for not taking the deal.  He threw in lots of completely unprofessional and immature lines like "You're really not going to take this deal?" and "How much money do you have on you right now?", etc.  We repeatedly insisted that we'd be back and that we were just not ready to commit that day, but the manager and sales rep continued to bully us until we finally just kind of made a break for the door and got out of there.  Needless to say, neither of us are interested in interacting with either of them again and will find a bed somewhere where the sales team is more professional and frankly, less mean.

Bought a power recliner on Sunday. The salesman wanted to sell me a power reclining sofa, but it wasn't what I was looking for. Then, he tried to sell me a power lift chair that helps you stand up. It wasn't comfortable and why do I need help standing? He was just after the sell. Finally I settled on a Tucker Power Recliner. Received it today. It worked once and then never again. Got to reading all the documentation which states that just anything can and will interfere with the operation of this chair. The receipt says no refunds or exchanges after delivery. I called Raymour & Flanigan to complain that the chair had stopped working. The person who answered said they'd have to call the warehouse and then get back to me. That was over an hour ago. Should've checked out Yelp first. I'd have avoided this place like the plague. Now I'm stuck with a chair that won't work and cost me a boat load of money. I can't even get it back out of my apartment to send it to the dump, where it belongs. I will never buy another thing from these people, and will make sure that my friends and coworkers avoid them as well. VERY unhappy customer.

Horrible experience. We ordered a chest that they delivered damaged. then we scheduled to have it swapped out. again the delivered chest was damaged, so we declined the delivery. scheduled again to have a new one delivered, this time they guaranteed a white glove delivery. guess what, again the delivered chest was damaged! i was beginning to wonder if they were delivering the same original damaged chest over and over again. i was furious, talked at length with the customer care, was at the point of canceling the order. they promised they would deliver the chest and this time someone would personally inspect it before it left the warehouse. yea right, again they delivered a damaged chest! i was speechless. these guys are so incompetent and insincere, what a waste of time, i had to take time off work to receive the delivery multiple times. never doing business with them again.

why isn't there a 0 star for 'go out of business already, scambag!'

After Jennifer Convertible completely failed at giving my roommates and I the couch we ordered (and, as of the time I'm writing this, the refund that they PROMISED we'd have by now) we were getting kind of couch desperate. We'd waited nearly a month for the couch we'd previously ordered and were getting pretty sick of having a furniture-less living room.

Enter Raymour & Flannigan, our knight in shining armor. We went in one night after work, with a print out of the couch we were interested in. They unfortunately did not have the couch on the floor, but showed us others in the same color, size, and fabric as the one we ended up buying. And if we didn't like it, we could return it for a full refund including delivery costs. We pretty much couldn't not do it.

We left the store with the promise of a three day (not three week, like we'd experienced before) delivery. They were also incredibly accommodating of our schedule, which was awesome since I know most companies are not when it comes to delivering.

Don't you love when everything goes as planned and promised? We got great prices during friends and family sale and delivery was very professional. They protected furniture with blankets and plastic before delivering and were very careful assembling and installing our furniture on date and time promised. We were very pleased and will go back.

Raymour was more expensive than the other couches we were looking for but they spent time finding us something that we liked and would also fit in our apartment.

They were great in scheduling a delivery within 3 days (a Saturday as requested) and the delivery went really well. The guys delivering actually cared about getting it up there and setting it up for us (better than our forray at Bobs). They even returned a piece we did not want and processed the refund quickly.

Great service and delivery in NYC.

In looking for an affordable, durable, and comfortable living room set for a vacation house, I made my way in to Raymour & Flanigan on East 14th Street.  I was helped by Dan, who was very knowledgable and showed me around the store for fit my aesthetic, price range, and needs.  He also showed me a sofa table for behind the sofa, to help separate the zones of the large room where the piece would be going.  The sofa table was not in the show room, though he showed me a lot of pictures on their computer system.

Any piece I was going to buy (was shopping in early December) I needed to have delivered soon, in time for family visiting for the holidays.  They were able to arrange delivery over the weekend, working around my schedule.  The living room set and sofa table were delivered, and look even better than I could have expected.  The sofa table, though bought it sight unseen, looks incredible, like a true antique heirloom, with dovetail detailing in the drawers.

Before Raymour & Flanigan, I went to Bob's, thinking the price would be cheap, and the pieces would work for a vacation house.  What a head ache it was to deal with the people at Bob's.  2 hours of my life wasted.

The help at Raymour and Flanigan was knowledgable, very helpful, and left me assured that everything would happen without a problem.  I've since been back to buy more for them, and will certainly return again.

Came in searching for a new couch for my apartment. Had an excellent experience with the Raymour and Flangian in Union Square and their salesperson Javed Mirza. Mirza was knowledgeable, patient, honest, and personable throughout the whole process (including cancelling the first order that didn't fit in my elevator and getting a new smaller couch set up). Very satisfied and highly recommend.
