JAM Paper and Envelope

Despite the demise of "snail mail," many people love to use letters for special occasions (or just use the envelopes with cards inside not meant to be sent through the mail).

This place gets a couple of sour apples, some really like it it, in that sense it is typical Yelp scene here--just wish there were more reviews

I hyperventilate every time I walk into this place. What is it about multi-colored, multi-textured envelopes that gets me every time? Little boxes, big boxes, ribbons, note cards, folders.

    OMG!

    Be still my heart!

On second thought, don't be still, heart! There aren't many simple pleasures like this left !

The tag line for this shop should be: An envelope for all seasons. Seriously, I have never seen such an amazing array of envelopes under one roof. If you cannot find the envelope of your dreams in this establishment, you probably should move to Mars. While the prices aren't cheap, they have paper and envelope closeouts that are dirt cheap in very offbeat colors, if that's your thing. Metallic tissue paper for $100 a pack is really insane - there must be real gold dust used in the manufacturing process to justify that price. These were very large packs, but come on.

Visually, this place is incredible ... at least for a fine artist like me. What can I say, I've always been turned on by envelopes and stationery. If I lived in NYC I would definitely shop or browse here on a regular basis.

I was really excited about ordering from JAM paper. I spent $200 as a new customer and paid $67 for 3 day shipping. I never received a shipping notification with tracking info, so I called to make sure I'd have my package in time, for Saturday. The Jam Paper told me I'd have it on Monday. I explained how I paid extra to have it by Saturday, etc and if I would have known it was Monday, I would have saved $40.

I was transferred to Ann Marie, the office manger. Ann Marie must have been having a bad day, because I barely said two words to her. She told me the facts 1) I placed my order past the cut off, 2) they normally don't ship to individuals or do 3-Day shipping and 3) They can't control UPS. I asked her why I didn't receive a shipping notification and she was extremely rude and hysterical. Ann Marie said I was trying to blame her for my mistakes and then proceeded to repeat the facts  in an very aggressive tone. I was just confused about the shipping policy and why I didn't receive any communications from Jam Paper.

I would just hope that next time, the company could treat new, and existing, customers respectfully. And say "Yes, I realize you're disappointed about the shipping, we are really sorry. Thank you so much for being our customer." Or something like that! It's not hard! We are all people. She didn't give me a chance to speak and didn't listen to anything I said. I asked to be transferred to Ann Marie's boss and Ann Marie refused.  It is a very unfortunate situation for Ann Marie and Jam Paper.

They have a colorful assortment of papers, and a variety of gifting goods like wrapping paper, boxes, confetti, etc. It's great for last minute jobs, but everything here is so pricey. I recommend going else where if you're not pinched for time. It's not worth paying these prices for standard quality papers.

If you love stationery items (me) and you love color (me), this is a fun place.

Every kind of stationery item here, in every possible size and color.  Envelopes are organized by size, and there must be ten sizes here.  Tons of printer paper, plastic envelopes, etc., all in more colors than in a box of super-sized Crayolas.  A huge selection of Sharpies is available, although I did not see crayons.

Tons of clearance items here as well, so check carefully.  These items are all over the store, not in one place.

Gift wrap, gift boxes and ribbon are also available in - surprise - tons of colors.  Martha Stewart would be in heaven.

Also has greeting cards, including some interesting 99 cent closeouts.

This place is great for people who want to add some color to their lives - know it's a silly joke, but I couldn't resist.

    Sweet!  This place is fabulous.

I love stationery.  I can't stop buying stationery.  This place has so many great things.  The envelopes are great, and so are their gift wrap and gift bag ideas.

Just looking in the window can be a sensory overload.  So many bright colors, shiny bubble mailers, pretty boxes.

Maybe they have a good selection. And I don't know too much about paper, but everything except for the blowout sales were unreasonably priced.

All I wanted was to get some colorful envelopes and paper to send to my friends back home and I wanted to use my student discount. Maybe it's a stupid reason to be unhappy with this place, but they wouldn't let me use my student discount after I already paid literally 3 seconds prior.

"You didn't show me the card before you bought it. It's too late now," the cashier says to me. "On your next purchase, remember to show the card to me first."

Yeah, I don't think I'm ever going back to that place. $12 for a pack of paper and envelopes?

Nah. Not worth it, even if it is a small business.

JAM PAPER is absurd. Do not order from this place. Their customer service is full of insults and attempts to make you feel less than competent. They lack flexibility and their website is unsuited for deliveries. They have a policy that allows you to complete an order for next day shipping when next day shipping is unavailable. I then receive a notification in the morning (the day that I needed the supplies) that my order was simply canceled.  Upon calling I spoke to rudest woman this side of the Mason Dixon Line and nothing was resolved. I am actually now trying to convince my company to stop using their products. The world would be better off without this company.

DO NOT ORDER FROM JAM PAPER.  They are extremely rude and could care less about your order.  I needed to change the shipping address of my order and was insulted by their terrible customer service and offensive sarcasm.  Find your paper elsewhere. Jam Paper & Envelope is the worst paper company I have ever dealt with.  Do not waste your time.  They are full of lies and will seriously screw you over.

Great store, however they should take the time to update the address on Yelp. They moved to 135 Third Ave and there was construction on that block so it was hard to see them.
