Talbot's on Upper East Side

I had never heard of Talbot's before....
Talbot's looks like and Upper East Side store really for Upper East Siders...

I expect to hear that it is conservative and expensive. Beyond that...well let' see--oh, it has other outlets, all right....just two reviews for this one, but they seem to concur

Beautiful clothing and terrific service.   A floor person spent twenty minutes helping me find a shirt. He knew I was going to buy only one item and spend only 200 dollars, but he treated me like I was going to spend two thousand dollars.   Great service. Great selection. Lousy dressing rooms.

Talbots is for the woman who is looking for conservative clothing that will last. The store on Madison avenue is well-stocked with such outfits. I like going in to browse periodically because the clothing fit well and are moderately priced. I have found a number of pairs of slacks that fit well and are fashionable, but my style tends to be more trendy that what you find in Talbots.

The store is ideal for women who are looking for moderate prices and traditionalist styles. I seem to find a lot of plaid when I visit this store.

On the other hand, the children's department is delightful with frothy dresses for the little girls and adorable suits for boys. There are also sportswear clothing for both sexes and I have found some great sales.

The staff is very helpful and they spend time waiting on you. Talbots has been around for a long time. I remember when it opened in Red Bank, New Jersey and it was a unique store back then offering a good deal for the money you spent.

    Genteel, for "ladies".

Lots of ruffles (yuk) this year.

    Good prices on sales.
