This is my new go-to bicycle shop.  I'd been here before to fix a flat (professional job, quick, etc..).  Always nice service, Nate is really helpful and just a nice guy.  Had been in to maybe buy a bike awhile back but decided against it, was not given the hard sell or anything remotely like that.

What prompted me to write the review was an issue I've been having with my bike that they fixed today.  The back wheel was getting caught (a tiny bit but enough to impede riding) on the rear fender - I had brought it to another bike shop in the area and thought they fixed it but the problem kept coming back.  Decided its time for a tune up and brought it to this shop, but the mechanic was out, Nate asked what the main issue was and he said he thought he could fix it.  He spent the next 10 minutes or so basically figuring it out (it was the kickstand piece had shifted and was pushing the tire back into the fender in essence) fixed it - no charge. It wasn't show much the difficulty of the labor, it was the expertise of understanding what/where the problem was (which I and the other bike shop completely missed)  The bike feels brand new as I've been riding with a block for a few weeks.

Still plan on going back for the tune-up - but just wanted to say what nice, useful, practical customer service that was.  And truthfully I was a bit skeptical as they are a mini-chain (speaking for this location) but they do a great job and I really appreciate how the operate politely, without what can sometimes feel like that bike snob condescension you get at certain bike shops.

I have been here twice and every time I come I am greeted with a smile and accommodated right away. The people here are always welcoming and friendly. It was a good experience.

The place is filled with new bikes, mostly for all ages. I came here looking for a used bike, simply because I have not ridden a bike since I was a kid and need some practice before going pro. The first time I came in, I asked if they had anything available, I did not have any luck. I was looking for a 14' bike, light and a neutral color. The second time, Michael and I walked in and I asked, and luckily enough they had the PERFECT bike for me! The size, color, price; everything was what I wanted.

I ended up buying the bike that day. Best part of it all, the guy working took an extra 50 dollars off the bike and also added a water bottle holder and I received a water bottle. Michael was also browsing for a bike. He stated that he wants to return, he has his eye on a bike that might be perfect for him.

So whether you are looking for something used, new or specific, these guys are the way to go! Get what you need here! No reason to go anywhere else!!

I just bought 3 bikes from Nate on 23rd Street.  He couldn't have been more helpful or patient with my kids.  Friendly, efficient and a great selection.  Very happy with the transaction.

Love these guys. I was really happy to see a bike shop go into this space--much needed in this neighborhood. I took my bike in for a tune-up and they replaced my chain and sprocket --now my old bike runs like new. Best of all, as other reviewers have noted, they're friendly and efficient and not condescending and do not pressure you to do stuff you don't need. I've never understood the attitude you get at places like Sids--totally uncalled for. Will definitely be going back with any equipment/repair needs!

This is my favorite bike shop in the city! I've been to a ton and, of course, have dealt with my share of employees with holier-than-thou attitudes and airs of condescension (and the worse if you're a woman entering the shop). But at Danny's, not only are they extremely welcoming and friendly and not sexist, but they do great work. They never compel you to repair or buy things you don't need, and they repair quickly and thoroughly. They also really love their job, one of the workers was just telling me about the owners and how they're just good guys committed to the company and simply offering good service.

I was charmed again just yesterday, when I replaced my front brakes and forgot my U-lock at the shop at closing time. They called me and let me know AND waited for me to return, even if that meant closing later. That's rare!

    Wholly recommended.

Dany's Cycles is the BEST.  I was in their neighborhood yesterday and came back from an appointment to find my bike vandalized and unridable.  I dragged it over to their shop  and they didn't hesitate to throw it up on the bike-fixing rack and put it back in working order. And then they refused payment.  This is the kind of place that can make you forget you live in NYC.  Every employee was very knowledgeable and nice; this is a bike shop that clearly appreciates customers and is not at all intimidating.  Yaay to Danny's Cycles!

Go here.  These guys know what they're doing, and they're super nice and helpful.  Contrast this to Sid's Bike Shop in NYC...I've been to both locations in the city, and I found the people at Sid's to be inattentive and rude.

Danny's has earned my business.  I needed a lot of work done on my bike, so I dropped it off in the early afternoon and picked it up before closing time on the same day with all the requested work done.  No appointments or anything like that necessary.  They did a fantastic job and I'll definitely be going there again.

I first came here because I had just bought a bike off Craigslist and wanted to get it checked out before hitting the road, and this shop was near my apartment. I keep coming back to this shop whenever I have any issues because the staff are friendly and efficient, and are patient with answering any questions I have. Highly recommend this place!

I went in on a sunny Sunday afternoon for a flat tire.  Great service and personal kindness.  I felt they really cared about my flat.  The service was excellent and the price was minimal for a new tube and a service charge: $18.  They took their time with everyone on line.  I don't think I would ever go elsewhere!

Walked in with a flat tire. They took a look at it right away. The guy who helped me didn't make me feel dumb about not seeing the piece of glass when I had changed it myself the first time. He also didn't try to make me buy a new tire. I'll defiantly go back when I have other bike issues in the neighborhood.
