Artist Builds Sand Castle on Street, Looking Warily at a Subway Staion and Other Scenes for Way Downtown Manhattan...

Little boy gazes with great curiosity at Whitehall Station of BMT ( R,N) trains way, way down at the bottom tip of Manhattan..

Hurricane Sandy sure flooded this station and the tunnel under the river, and it was a hell of a job getting all the water pumped out.

I still don't think this station is functioning normally...sign is posted on it I see saying something about service problem..

Meanwhile, man builds large sand castle nearby to delight of tourists.

This is the kind of public Arts project I really enjoy. I wanted to stay around a while but I had to get up to Wall Street... I did not, however, tarry at the Beer Garden down near the Staten Island Ferry (below)

A lot of the fun was just watching tourists have fun

One thing we could do without, however, would be some of the buildings clustered at the bottom of Manhattan...they are not exactly a visual treat...but, oh well, so much else IS
