OK, restaurant here is now called Neely's

Over the years, I have seen a number of restaurants at this site on the Southwest corner of East 62nd Street and First Avenue in Midtown..

It was a Spanish restaurant first that I can remember, and then a steak house...

Let's see what the internet says about Neely's--weel, not bad reviews from Yelp:

Made reservations and came to
Neely's around 8:30 on a Saturday night with 4 other people. My biggest complaint? Our table wasn't ready and we had to sit around and wait for 10-15 minutes. Luckily the manager was incredibly apologetic and sent over a peach cobbler after our meal to apologize--incredible by the way!

I had the chicken with Mac and cheese and collard greens. I ended up sending the greens back because they tasted like they weren't cooked in vinegar at all and maybe seasoned with pepper. Very odd tasting, but greens are hard to do well. I'm still giving them 5 stars though because they very quickly brought out mashed potatoes for me instead and they were amazing.

Altogether the food was pretty amazing and everyone in our party was very satisfied. Coolest part about Neely's? They have an awesome very lounge-y cigar bar with sofas and fireplaces downstairs. Very cool place to start or end a night.

Altogether I would absolutely go again!
