Surprise! Sun Shines on Vanderbilt Avenue

Of course, day after I wax poetic about eternal gloomy nature of Vanderbilt Avenue next to Grand Central, it is bathed in bright sunlight. I think it is a fluke--that's why the balloons are out,  they knew it would be the only day of the year it would be sunny and they are celebrating....
