Subway art and more anti smoking ads (campaign is really in full swing down there)

Most of the art in the NY Subways comes from back when it was built...such as all the decor on what used to be called the Lexington Avenue subway (mosaics and plaster thematic art for the different stops...such as beavers for Astor Place...Mr. Astor having made his first fortune in fur trading...etc. Often very clever...since it all dates from 1904 or so, a lot of it needs repair!

This modern work is up going from the 42nd Street Shuttle to Grand Central..I think it is OK, wish they tried it more at other stations...

And, as I have noted before, endless ads urging people to quit smoking...they are going at this really hot and heavy in the subways right now...Finally at end of this now are some examples of what I mean as old, old decor at 33rd Street station --Lexington Avenue (now people say the 4,5 and 6 trains)--then the anti smoking ads (one series type)
