Ah, Save the Garment District!

Someone has to organize a campaign to stop what Mayor Bloomberg started....namely, plans to displace all the specialty stores of the Garment District with luxury housing units...how can people be so oblivious to the way they will be losing such an important part of the City's history?

Arguably, New York is a City that has always thrived on tearing down the old and building the new ( or in these days, renovating the Old and changing its function)...a lot of these shop buildings are low rise, though, they will all have to go...

I guess you could say it is not like losing Grand Central Terminal or something, which Jackie Onassis saved...but stilll...
