Friends and Neighbors:
Next Tuesday, November 29th, from 6pm to 8pm, I will be hosting a forum titled "Making Change in Your Neighborhood: How to Work with Your Government to Improve Your Community." It will take place at SUNY Global Center, Global Classroom, 116 East 55th Street in Manhattan.
I believe that citizenship isn't limited to casting your ballot on election day - change is driven by the participation of regular people. The upcoming forum will be an opportunity to find out how you can help shape the kind of city you want to live in.

The event will bring together speakers from neighborhood associations, advocacy groups and government in a discussion of ways for citizens to impact the governing process and be effective in addressing community issues. There will also be an opportunity for representatives of other community organizations to share examples of successful organizing efforts and strategies.

We'll hear from speakers including:
- M. Umair Khan, Office of NYC Public Advocate
- Elaine Walsh, East 86th Street Association
- John Raskin, Riders Alliance
RSVP at http://tinyurl.com/zn6dh3b, or by email at liz@lizkrueger.com or calling (212) 490-9535.

Best,
Liz Krueger
State Senator
