The lessons from a literal assassination in November 1963 hold wisdom for overcoming the fire service's figurative leadership assassinations:
We, as a fire service, must be conscious to develop leaders and their skills, not assassinate them.

This is an important program and one that should be implemented at every department.
Officials are now training firefighters to let them know it's OK to ask for help.

Patrick Murray It is not the calls that drives some crazy it's the management and back stabbing some of the so called brothers do to get to the top. Face it, the fire service is not what it was 25 years ago. Now it's first about the power then it's about the money never about the pride of service.

Mike Taylor This is a real problem. I've been on a volunteer department for 15 years and have seen things that make you question everything. This should be mandatory for all departments.

It may have been fictitious and sometimes unrealistic, but here's how the crew from Emergency raised the bar for the fire service:
It was a different place and time, but they were the best of the best and they set the bar high. Thank you station 51.

TJ Warder As a Firefighter / Paramedic I am honored to have 51 has my unit number. My dad has been in the fire service for little over 35 years. That's all I've known growing up and I remember watching the reruns on TV Land. Now every now and then I will catch it on Netflix

Would you want a baby box at your station?
The agency was supposed to recommend standards so the incubators could be installed and operated safely, not decide whether they should be implemented.
