7.5 magnitude quake rocks South Asia, at least 12 dead in Pakistan
The powerful earthquake struck a remote area of northeastern Afghanistan on Monday, shaking the capital Kabul and killing at least eight people in neighbouring Pakistan, officials said. Prof Fong Kok Yong, chairman of its medical board, said: “Phylogenetic studies done for the two patients who were tested positive as announced on 23 October showed that they are part of the affected cluster, bringing the total number of affected patients to 25.

President Tony Tan begins state visit to New Zealand, visits exhibition on country's WWI role
His tour of The Great War Exhibition took him through the experiences of some of the 100,000 soldiers from New Zealand who fought in the war from 1914 to 1918, over 18,000 of whom died, and the battles they fought.
