MY NEW (REVISED) VIDEO ON FALL IN MANHATTAN HERE
Yes, "Autumn is Here and the Sadness is Upon Us"..
But Fall is my favorite season in NYC, even though we have so many occasions for sadness in September.
As you can make out if you look closely here, the apples are turning red in the apple tree outside my North window..
And in the Eastern Window the Mums, Campanula and Jade are doing just fine..
This cheerful bench on West 100th Street was hand made locally..
A lot has gone on this September of course..
The Pope's visit brought up September 11 again, but also reminded us of the glories of the restored St. Patrick's Cathedral
Stunning restoration
And of course, there was Stephen Colbert to bring us the lighter side of the Pope's visit..
Locally, it was a mixed bag..
Gentrification pressures, ( as I show in this video) have brought on the sale of the Salvation Army's "The Williams" residence ( for $125 million -slated now to become luxury condos...residents of the The Williams will be moved out of familiar surroundings and into new places like a drab and not all the appealing corner of East Harlem
I would have used the Billie Holiday song on this video but it is not permitted...
In a lot of ways, life went on in its typical ways...
And the fight goes on ...the "Good Fight"...for mercy for all those who are suffering and dying because of that awful day of Terrorism..
But Life continues and we will continue to have the Beauties of the Earth and the Spirit of Life about us..if we can keep it!
Well, here is new version of video ( best seen in Theater Mode or Full Screen)
