If we acknowledge that "white" and
"black" people do not exist, then we will accept what really exists:
African Americans, Polish Americans, Japanese Americans, Indian
Americans, Mexican Americans and the other Americans who reside outside
the crude terms of "black" and "white."

If we had not taken the time to have our
ambassadors deliver lights in person, taking the time to get to know
the families and communities, we would have lost something. This was
only possible through the human interaction.

Being born into poverty is more than
just the circumstance of not having enough money to buy food or other
material items, it is about not understanding why a clear glass of water
can cause a child to die of diarrhea or why disease is not caused by
spirits.

While some nations have imposed voting as mandatory
for all citizens, the process of disenfranchisement in the US appears to
be tolerated and/or encouraged at least by some political elites who
claim to represent us as a whole.

Africa is a continent with over a
billion people, who live in more than 50 different countries and speak
more than 2,000 different languages. There are definitely large cultural
groupings, and many Africans feel some sense of unity, but it is really
 an incredibly diverse place.

Motherhood is an overload of emotions. We always have
mixed feelings and are never satisfied with one. Sometimes I'm happy
and angry. I never thought that was possible until I started having
sleepless nights.

The Nielsen poll found that a small number of
Vietnamese -- 2.6 percent -- continue to buy and use rhino horn. We'll
be working to continue to build awareness and to cause the whole of
society to shame the people who persist in driving the consumption of
this product.
