"If I'm The Duke, then Peggy Lee is the Queen." - Duke Ellington
Peggy Lee is best known for her 1958 hit-song, "Fever". Or perhaps it’s her heartbreaking rendition of the Leiber & Stoller classic, "Is That All There Is?" Then you have, Lee as the crooning cartoon canine in "Lady and the Tramp". Familiar with The Muppets? She was the inspiration behind the fabulous Miss Piggy. It’s hard to pinpoint what specifically she is so famous for because her work is so pervasive. And honestly – it’s all really good.
This hour, we’ll take a look at the life of Miss Peggy Lee. Hosted by vocalist Stacy Sullivan, we’ll explore the music and personal struggles of a performer whose six-decade long career took her to the heights of Hollywood fame.
