Somerville, MAI went there with 3 other friends. There was no wait which was great and the service was excellent. My friends ordered the prix fixe menu which had a lot of items and starts with a soup. I had the sag paneer.
I've had better Indian food but the service was incredibly good and it's BYOB so overall we had a really good experience. -

Low prices does not allow a restaurant to get away with low quality.
This is not real Indian food. I doubt the chef is from India. In my 20+ years eating Okra (bhindi) I've never seen it cooked in a gravy. Very weird.
Other missteps: they give pita bread in the lunch special (probably the first clue I should have left). When I ordered naan it was not made in a tandoor and if it was it was made by someone who doesn't know what they are doing. Lastly, the 'chutneys' are clearly store bought and not fresh.
I'm giving this place 2 stars only because the samosa was made fresh and was delicious. -

I've noticed that while walking down East 6th street, there's many Indian restaurants. I gave them my first Indian experience while walking into this one. It's small yet cozy, limited lights. It suits the romantic date setting.
There was only two other people here at 5pm Saturday afternoon.
There was a huge glass bottle of water on place on the small table.
We were started off with the complimentary chips and three sauces to dip. The green was cool spice, the brown was sweet spice and there was the "chili" vegetables- I liked that one best.
The waiter took out orders and our wine came - sparkling white wine and pinot grigio.
He had the coconut soup and I had the Murg Shorba My soup had tomato and bits of chicken making the texture quite thick and yummy. In my perspective, the coconut looked milky with coconut flakes.
Next, Mixed Tandoori Appetizers - Chicken, pork, lamb. It is pretty big for an appetizer. It's decorated with onions and peppers. I liked the pork best, didn't eat the lamb portion, but verbally heard that it was great from my other half.
We both ordered from the Seafood Specialties served with Basmati Rice And Relish . I had the Machli Curry - My salmon entree was so worth the money. It included three huge chunks of salmon with no bones! He had the jhinga tikka masala, there was about six shrimp was decent portioned; he was jealous of my dish. The rice is dry, but it fits well with the curry. Next is dessert. Pistachio ice cream!!!!!
If you are on the budget, they have the prix dinner meal for $10. The guy next to us ordered the vegetarian Platter and there was a lot included for $10.
Total $50, outta here in a hour.-

SOUTH RICHMOND HILL, NYVery cozy spot. Helpful staff. The food was some of the better Indian food I've had. There's a pretty wide selection, although three times I ordered items they said they didn't have. The portions were on the smaller side, but were adequate.
I would recommend trying this restaurant. -

Brooklyn, NYMy girlfriend and I visited this place with a groupon purchase. The restaurant is very intimate and small, something we tend to find appealing in restaurants. Upon being seated, I notice a fork and piece of chicken under the table and directed the waiter's attention to it. He took care of it immediately and although I was bothered by it (when it comes to food, I'm a stickler for having a clean environment), I know it was probably just an oversight.
Appetizer: we ordered the Mix Tandoori Meats which was quite large and we ended up boxing up most of it. The chicken was overdone but the lamb was quite tasty.
Soup: My gf ordered the Coconut soup which she enjoyed and I had the Murgh soup (which I did not initially order. I had ordered the tomato lentil soup and told the waiter such but decided that it was already there and I didn't want to wait for them to bring the right soup). The soup was quite delicious so the error became a positive for my taste buds.
Entree: We ordered the chicken tikka masala and the chicken cove. Both curries were good, however, our chicken was once again overdone. It was quite annoying to chew through chunky, overdone chicken.
We also ordered the garlic naan which wasn't that good (tasted like a heavy flatbread).
Dessert: Pistachio Ice Cream and Coconut Ice Cream. Those were good.
We had to ask about the wine that went along the deal and felt a little annoyed that small things that can be easily attended to were overlooked.

Greenwich Village, Manhattan, NYSpice Cove is just another reason I've grown to love the East Village restaurant/bar scene. Perfect for a budgeted yet growing college student like myself, Spice Cove has been both generous on my wallet and my stomach. This is especially true whenever I go for lunch, where there are enough extras on top of your entree that you could easily pack up midway through and save the rest for dinner (or any midnight munchies).
Of course, as much as price and quantity matter, nothing is as important to me as the flavor. I came here after a later shift at work and was curious to see how they did my usual Indian staple: Chicken Tikka Masala. The plate was a warm, large helping that smelled delicious. The chicken was the perfect texture (not too chewy but not too mushy either), and the tomato cream sauce was just a delightful treat, sitting somewhere between a dip and a soup. Putting this together with a basmati rice and savory pickled relish, I was in Punjabi heaven!
On top of having such ridiculously cheap and good food, the waitstaff was super friendly. The service was quick and efficient with no complaints or problems regarding my order. SUNNYSIDE, NYIt's been a while since I've hit up Sixth Street and was pleasantly surprised that I you can still find good value in the area. Even my hard to please mom was impressed by Spice Cove.
It's a great renovation and the food is tasty, particularly the breads. My ONLY complaint was slightly dry samosa (which was easily overlooked by the superbly fried pakora). The vindaloos in particular were quite good. -

Manhattan, NYI was thrilled when I clicked on to Spice Cove's page to see that they have LOTS of glowing reviews. That's because they deserve it!
I have been coming to Spice Cove regularly for the past 3 or so years. I've seen a few switches in management, but things have never been better. To start with, the food is always excellent - fresh and delicious. Unlike some of the other Indian restaurants I've been to on the 6th street sprawl, the food here doesn't all come swimming in an identical, tasteless gravy. Each dish has it's own flavor and spice, which they will happily adjust to your liking. You can tell each dish is cooked individually by a chef, which is more than I can say for many restaurants. Some of their menu highlights are the Chana Bhaji, Mushroom Saag, Kashmiri Eggplant, Chicken Dilder and last but definitely not least, the Chicken Tikka Kebabs, which are always insanely tasty. The chicken is moist and the seasoning is spot on.
On top of that, I've gotten to know a majority of the staff well by now, and they are always really sweet and helpful. Every time I come in they greet me and who ever I am with very graciously, and then generously give me extra of their chutneys, which are my absolute favorite in all of NYC. I can't say enough good things about this little gem!!! Note: It is little, literally, but the decor and ambiance are so cozy that you barely notice!! And people, at these prices, it just doesn't get better than this!! Great food, great service, and a cozy, quirky East Village ambiance... Jamaica Hills, Queens, NYMy favorite Indian restaurant in the city. I've been coming since they open. Food is always delicious, and the servers are very friendly. They give complimentary mango ice cream for desert which is a plus. -

Spice Cove is my #1 delivery spot for Indian food in the East Village. Their lunch special is reasonably priced and usually lasts me two meals. I usually get the Chicken Tikka Masala and on occasionally the Sag Paneer, which have always been delicious.
On occassion, I've eaten at the restaurant which is small, but quaint. The service has always been attentive. I was introduced to this location via a http://restaurant.com voucher two years ago and have been coming back ever since.

I work near Indian Row on Lex and I ordered from Spice Cove in the East Village on seemless web. I was being ventureous and didnt want go outside for food. I am so glad I ordered from here. I had the lamb korma lunch special and it was amazing.
1. I love the fact that I could pick my level of spice.
2. The portion was just the right size for me. I am not full.
3. The food was delicious.
There is nothing more to say. The korma was sweet and savory and there was enough meat in it. The portion of rice is small but enough. The naan was soft and warm. Unfortunately, the dhall was orange and not yellow which through me off but it tasted alright.
All in all, yum! -
