    Momma, momma I'm coming HOOMMME...

Yeah, before I walked in I took a picture and posted it to all of my social media foolala.   All of my friends know my obsession with Marimekko and the notifications started flooding my phone in milliseconds.

    The colors!

    The patterns!!

The bright Mod tent dresses, ahhh!!!

I had finally made it to a Marimekko flagship, and it was a pretty decent experience.  I guess I thought they would have every purse, frock, umbrella, etc. ever made in there but alas, the supply was actually limited for a junky like me.  I already own half the stuff in the store.  I did manage to walk out with a decently priced dress, scarf, sock combo and presents for my sisters.  But they should ask the stores around them to vacate so they can expand.   I will be back, and maybe I'll bring in photos of my Marimekko wedding and they'll give me a plane ticket to Finland or something.

A fan of Mari Mekko for many years, I have been to this shop a number of times. Sometimes quite, other times busy. Recently on Saturday it was difficult to get any help. I waited for 15 minutes and either for better or worse, the staff is not interested in the sale. The staff was busy chatting with their customer and taking their time. The store was crowded and unfortunately I was never acknowledge. I wanted to buy some fabric and I was past by xx number of times as the staff did not want to at least tell me they would be with me in a minute. That's because as I wrote, they were focused on their one customer and probably had no idea when they would be finished. I left and although smaller, I do prefer Kiitos on the upper east side. Better service.

I've never been to Marimekko store up until I visited this banch a couple of weeks ago.  I felt like a kid in a candy store. Beautiful high quality textiles with gorgeous, fun, bold, print. I wish I could have bought everything! From the dresses, shower curtains, trays, necklaces, and throw pillows. Unfortunately, things of high quality and that are  beautifully designed come with a price. But that doesn't mean you'll leave empty handed! Their kiss-lock coin purses are $18 - $24.

They had a great sale going on with up to 70% savings. I can't wait to see what they have coming for next season!

Great to see marimekko have a flagship store in a prominent area, however flagship doesn't always mean better.  My heart is still with the upper east side store as you get better service!

I did go during long weekend sales and it was crazy but I couldn't find anyone to assist in finding the change room!

Go if you know your marimekko and your looking just to pick up specific items.

    What a fun place !

Marimekko is a Finnish company which makes some beautiful and colorful items that you never knew that you needed until you see them.  A very quick rundown at a variety of prices.

A potholder is $11.00 and an oven mitt is $19.00, and although that may sound expensive, they would be great gifts for someone who loves to cook or as housewarming gifts.  The patterns and colors are beautiful, and I would love them for myself, except that I don't cook! (Beautiful aprons were also there, but couldn't find prices on them).

Women's striped t-shirts begin at $69.00 and run to around $130.  This is way over my budget, but the colors are amazingly vivid and the fabric is so soft.  You know that these are not from The Gap!

Some fabulous children's toys are here, as well as some books I haven't seen elsewhere - and believe me, I know books!  Some of the toys look like they could break easily, so know the child for whom you are buying.

Blank notebooks range from $14.00 to $20.00, so there is plenty here for every budget.

If you know someone who is a fan of Scandinavian items or colorful things, be sure to take a trip.  It's worth it.

I LOVE Marimekko and they are now expanding their stores in the US - WOO HOO!  They have a variety of products from clothes for children and women, to home goods and just fabric!  You can go in and buy some really cool fabrics to use on your own, or have them create pillows, etc for you.  I actually go here for the clothes though, the colors and designs are so great, and distinctly Marimekko!  This location is their flagship store and it's fantastic!  A little limited on inventory in apparel but what they do have is awesome (as one would expect) and I have been assured by the sales team they'll be getting in even more come Spring.

And for kids clothes you don't get cooler then Marimekko!!

This flagship is spacious and a wonderful way to experience the grand scale of Marimekko prints. I knew going in that I couldn't afford most of the product, but it was still nice to feel the weight and quality of their housewares products - the Oiva teapot and serving bowl, swoon!
