Lobby renovations are done, and it looks great! Two little seating areas and there is a sleek and modern vibe. The restaurant in the hotel, Contorno's, was also renovated and has a new layout. Elevators will soon be under renovation as well it seems. Same great attentive staff!

A quiet, clean, affordable and close to brand spankin' new place to lay my head in the center of Manhattan- I don't think it gets much better than that! Granted, there is a part of me that yearned to hang with the cool kids at The Ace Hotel (or wherever the cool kids lodge these days), but ultimately, a hotel room does not have to be trendy to be fabulous.

We were able to get a room for under $200/night thanks to Hotwire, and this is a great rate in Manhattan. Check in was easy, and our only minor issue was that despite our "Do Not Disturb" sign maintenance came banging on our door. However, that happened within the first hour of arriving, and there were no other disturbances during our stay.

    Key highlights (besides the cost):
    1. Everything has the appearance of being new and modern, and it was definitely clean.
    2. Multiple HBO channels.
    3. The floors are small, so you do not have to hike to the elevator.
    4. We had a room on the backside of the building, so it was silent and dark! This is rare when you are in NYC. It was so peaceful that I had no problem sleeping 10 hours every night!
    5. Those 10 hours of rest were aided by a very comfortable bed.
    6. Nice location. It's not the West Village or SoHo, but it is central and easy to hop on the subway (6 or N/R) to anywhere you need to go. If you happen to like Korean food, you won't even need to get on the subway as it is pretty much in the heart of K-town. BBQ and body scrub lovers take note.

Without a doubt, I would stay here again!

The BEST at this price. Everything is new, clean, and wonderful. Beds are very comfortable, the shower is amazing, great staff, and we even got a free pizza, that we ordered at 3am and it was no problem. Really a great experience.
