Bo Concept- Furnishings- Midtown East

There are a lot of stores like this one in this area but almost none of them have any Yelp reviews. This one, in fact, has only three and I am only running it to show once again how differently individuals experience different stores...

We recently purchased a coffee table and large TV console. We love the clean and modern look of their furniture and were very happy to receive the console in about two weeks.
The customer service in the store was really great. They helped us get a very good idea of how the pieces of furniture we bought would look together by moving around furniture from their show room and also by providing us different computerized looks. Also when the coffee table that we originally purchased was not in good shape and the we had to wait some more 4-6 weeks they offered a nice discount, which speaks tons of the customer service of this store.
We would have definitely bought more items from Boconcept if we wouldn't have to wait for so long to get them delivered and if they had more customer friendly return policies though ....

Unlike those of you who have mostly positive things to say, my experience with Bo Concept customer services is totally different.
I have had problems from the start, over 2 years ago, with 2 Shelley chairs and an ottoman.
Despite having 2 chairs that were delivered with mechanical flaws (both Charis were completely broken at their bases and the ottoman was also broken), I have been in a constant battle to have all items replaced.
Two years later, I only have one chair back, an ottoman with a different base that does not match the base of the only chair I have (seems the original model is no longer manufactured and that fact was never related), and still without a chair.
I have been given the complete runaround for the last 2 years and still without a second chair.
You would think that after spending over $4,000 on these items, I would have received better service!?!
I will never buy another product from Bo Concept and suggest that if you are thinking of do so, THINK AGAIN! It really isn't worth your time for inferior products.

Despite an initial error with my order, which amounted to a verbal communication error, sadly not helped by fuzzy technical drawings, I finally look like I'll be getting a fix to my sofa mishap, with the help of both the US headquarters and the UES store.  While I didn't find the staff immediately supportive of my complaint, the situation did get worked out within a few weeks, at an agreeable compromise.

When these things happen it tends to raise all kinds of questions, including what other sales statements might be inaccurate.  Will the sofa really last 10 years?  How durable is the seat cushion foam?  Surely I should have researched what grade it was, even though it wasn't offered.   You never fully appreciate the question of how durable a proclaimed sturdy high-use leather hide is on a sofa until your toddler licks it the first time he gets on it and it remains slightly discolored for days.  Notably, after putting cleaner on the sofa that removed the darkness, but imagine a two year old getting up every time and seeing lick marks all over. You of course then ask yourself how it was possible that you did not see the leather tested with water before accepting said claims at face value.  Just food for thought. The more research you do, the happier you'll be; nevermind coming across hyper to the staff.  Its your money.  Ask away.
