Healthy Pizza

Sign says "Healthy Pizza"-- guess so you won't think it is "junk food" or anything.

I am sure it is a lot better than the 99 cent pizza on 34th Street.

Nativity Scene

Nativity scene at St. Vartan's cathedral..

Have show picture of it at night, when it is just a blur of lights.

Guess it must be coming down soon...

Marchi Crest

Crest on side of building in Kips Bay.

Have no idea what this stands for....nothing there to tell you any more.

Maybe just name of family that owns building.(?)

Couch on street

Saw this couch on street...as so often, with cushions missing.

Assume it was thrown away and awaiting garbage pickup.... But why did they throw away the other cushions?

Kips Bay Branch Library

Winter is always a good time to head for the library....just to search and see what they have.

The smallish Kips Bay Branch has a good selection of books....and I have looked through most of them!

Keep going back from time to time to see what will be on display or new.

Fountains Back On

Snow melting, fountains back on at apartment building on 2nd avenue..

Decorative kale looks none the worse for wear after being covered with snow.

Snow Melts--Hole in 2nd Avenue

With snow melting, more digging in streets...like here on 2nd Avenue.

Mild Day- Snow Melts

Milder New Year's Day, snow melting...

..and the return of women wearing 3" heels.

Woman on right was really having trouble walking...if there was something wrong with her foot, why was she wearing those heels? "One must suffer for beauty?"

Park Avenue Scultpure with Lights

Small seasonal sculpture with lights in the island of Park Avenue and 34th Street...

Is it a horse?

24 hour health club

Think the idea of a 24 hour health club is perfect for the "City that Never Sleeps"..

Getting to it these past days must have been a problem.

Flu

As if you had to be reminded...

NYPL- Science, Industry, Business

The Library of Science, Library and Business is a large place located on 34th Street and Madison Avenue where the old Altman's department store used to be.

Great for researchers.

Another water hazard

Most people just make big circles to avoid this sort of situation...as I said.

I walk on the other side of the street if I can see what is happening...

Happy McDonald's

Caught McDonald's at a slow moment in the late afternoon. Place is usually packed...

Never eat there myself unless it is an emergency.

Water Hazard- East 35th Street

Temperatures are milder, but melting snow makes it rough on pedestrians.... how deep is this water? You can't tell unless someone else tries it or you try it.

OK if you wear high top boots I guess. I have been wearing my snow/slush boots which get me through most situations.

Access

Getting around plowed snow can get to be a problem.

Trash collecting

Snowfall slows down everything, including garbage removal...
