Planning, Preservation, and Community Participation:
Through the Lens of New York's Neighborhoods

New York is changing as the population grows and residents embrace or reject new construction. This panel, hosted by the New York Landmarks Conservancy, will explore important questions that are facing neighborhoods across the City: How do we balance preservation and development? Do New Yorkers have enough say in planning and zoning? How can citizens help shape their communityĆ¢€™s future?
Panelists include:
- Angel Ayon, AIA, LEED AP; Founder, Ayon Studio; Vice-President, Save Harlem Now
- Majora Carter, Founder, Majora Carter Group, Urban Revitalization Strategy Consultant & Real Estate Developer
- George Janes, Founder, George M. Janes & Associates, Planning Consultant
- Liz Krueger, New York State Senator, 28th District
- Steve Levin, New York City Councilmember, 33rd District
The event will take place on Thursday, April 6th, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen, 20 West 44th Street, Manhattan.
