Daniel Sinsley A crew of ours was taking santa around town passing out gifts to kids and the 5in came out of the hose bed....all 1000 feet of it.

It looks like the volunteer departments who helped will be getting some reimbursement.
The requests are for overtime, equipment costs and other expenses claimed by about 30 public agencies and volunteer fire companies in 16 of Maryland's 23 counties.

April Keith Merry Christmas our local firefighters are still at a tire factory fire they went back home 2 times but get called back out cause it starts back up I feel sorry for them not being home on this Christmas Day with there family and with them not sleeping last past 2 days is hard on them so please keep them in your prayers thank u

Jennifer Reese As a fellow public service worker I can fully understand and appreciate the frustration of a bogus call. But it does warm my heart that there is a child still left in this world who still believes in the magic of Christmas and knows that when you need help to call 911.
Dustin Haynes How about this one. Just got a call tonight for a debris fire in an area that is under water. Called in by a passer-by. Gotta love holiday weekends
The good news is that the firefighters came out OK; their 5-year-old rig did not fare so well.
They were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries; the driver was charged with failure to maintain reasonable control.

Matthew Smith There is worse fire hazards than a Christmas tree, out of 30 million trees sold annually only about 200 catch fire. Surge protector fires are almost 1000 times more likely to happen.

Brad Reynolds Leave the root ball on the tree keep it wet and you will have a lot less problems. Plus you can plant the tree or donate it to a city park afterwards
His own department responded to the scene; no word yet on why he crashed.
